Senior Manufacturing Engineer

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will report directly into the Operations Manager and be responsible for:

  • Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot CNC programs for Swiss-style lathes, multi-axis lathes, and milling centers.
  • Translate engineering drawings and 3D models into efficient, accurate machining strategies using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Siemens NX, Esprit).
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and design engineering to ensure components are manufacturable, repeatable, and meet tight tolerances.
  • Drive process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce cycle times, and enhance quality.
  • Lead the design of tooling, fixtures, and workholding solutions for new and legacy parts.
  • Assist in new product introductions (NPI) from prototype through production.
  • Train and mentor junior programmers and machinists in best practices.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., scrap reduction, lean manufacturing).

The Successful Applicant

  • Associate's or Technical degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in CNC programming and manufacturing engineering, preferably in medical device or aerospace environments.
  • Expert-level proficiency with Swiss turning and multi-axis CNC machining.
  • Strong CAM experience (Mastercam or equivalent).
  • Deep understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and machining to tight tolerances.
  • Experience with validation, documentation, and process control in a regulated industry (ISO 13485 a plus).
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, high-mix, low-volume environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
