Quality Assurance Specialist

Job Description

• Ensure adherence to safety regulations and standards; follow the site safety culture and wear PPE when required
• Serve as the "Voice of the Customer" by reviewing concerns, questions, and nonconforming material
• Analyze failures and perform root cause analysis and corrective action for process-related concerns and/or customer complaints
• Review, analyze, and determine corrective actions for internal nonconforming material
• Support continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system and tools
• Work with manufacturing and engineering personnel in support of quality initiatives
• Interface with engineering and operations to support successful new product launches
• Support Quality Inspectors to ensure products and processes comply with quality system and customer requirements
• Continuously improve first-piece, in-process, and final inspection processes and procedures
• Assist with the submittal of First Article Inspection Reports
• Follow 6S procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area

The Successful Applicant

• Associate degree or higher in a related field
• Quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
• Basic understanding of inspection methods, techniques, and equipment
• Experience with ISO 9001 or AS9100 Quality Management Systems
• Experience with common machine shop gaging and inspection techniques
• Basic understanding of blueprint reading and 6S
• Strong time-management and organizational skills
• Ability to manage projects and complete tasks in a timely manner
• Ability to identify areas for improvement and think strategically to enhance efficiency
• Ability to identify root causes and determine corrective actions
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office
