Plastics Engineering Manager

My client is a leading contract manufacturer specializing in precision plastic injection molding and assembly. They tackle complex, high-precision projects, delivering innovative solutions and exceptional quality for a variety of industries.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams to support business growth.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to Project Managers and Project Engineers.
  • Ensure manufacturing and project activities comply with ISO 13485:2016 and other quality standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and quality.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Molding, Pad Printing, and Assembly teams to implement best practices.
  • Lead projects from concept through completion, including planning, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Participate in vendor selection, equipment implementation, and facility improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee documentation, audits, and corrective actions to maintain high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

The Successful Applicant

Ideal Candidate:

  • BS degree in a technical or scientific field (BSME preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations and management.
  • Proven project management skills and experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, FMEA, GD&T, and continuous improvement principles.
  • Familiarity with plastic injection molding processes, preferably in medical device manufacturing.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks (or other 3D CAD tools), Microsoft Office, and statistical analysis.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to quality, safety, and collaboration.
