Job Description

As the Operations Leader, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Manage and oversee daily production operations to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency goals are achieved.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Hire, lead and mentor a team of production staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee transitions from the lab environment into a production facility.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations within the facility.
  • Monitor and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and maintenance, to address operational challenges.
  • Drive initiatives to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Prepare and present reports on production performance to senior management.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Operations Leader should have:

  • Experience working in an industrial startup work environment.
  • Experience building out a pilot plant preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in the industrial manufacturing space.
  • Background in mechanical engineering and an understanding of how furnaces work.
  • Understanding of metallurgical processes.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record in managing manufacturing operations.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations within the industrial sector.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a results-driven mindset.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in analyzing production data and implementing process improvements.
  • A commitment to fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
