Engineering Design Supervisor

In this role you will report directly to the Engineering Manager and be responsible for:

  • Supervising and monitoring productivity for a team of CAD designers, ensuring drawings and designs are being completed accurately and on time
  • Acting as liaison between the design team and other departments, facilitating communication and collaboration
  • Providing onboarding, training, and mentoring for new staff and contract designers to help them become productive team members
  • Assigning and managing design workloads to meet department and project goals
  • Establishing, maintaining, and improving design team processes, procedures, and standards
  • Identifying and implementing new tools and methods to improve design efficiency and quality
  • Conducting performance reviews and offering feedback to support staff development

A successful candidate will have:

  • AS degree in Engineering or Technology preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience mentoring or supervising design resources
  • Strong technical background in mechanical-electrical, sheet metal, piping, and/or heating/cooling consumer products
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks or other 3D modeling software; E-CAD experience a plus
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
