Job Description

Strategic Planning & Governance: Contribute to or define strategy, manage resources, budgets, and policies, ensure continuous improvement, and oversee compliance with procedures.

Leadership & Team Development: Lead teams or guide individual contributors by defining roles, supporting career growth, and aligning operations with strategic goals while demonstrating key leadership behaviors (LEAD: Listen, Energise, Align, Develop).

Subject Matter Expertise & Mentorship: Provide deep domain knowledge, lead long-term initiatives, mentor junior staff, and influence decisions related to risk, profitability, and strategic direction.

Risk & Control Accountability: Take ownership of identifying and mitigating risks, enhancing controls, and supporting the broader governance agenda.

Collaboration & Analytical Problem Solving: Work cross-functionally, engage stakeholders, apply advanced analysis and research, and build trusted partnerships to drive innovative, high-impact solutions.

The Successful Applicant

Core Software Engineering Skills: Solid foundation in software development with hands-on experience using Java, Spring Framework, and building microservices-based applications.

Resilience & Reliability Engineering: Proficient in implementing resilience patterns, including circuit breakers, to build robust and fault-tolerant systems.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Experienced in automating infrastructure provisioning using IaC tools and practices.

CI/CD & Automation: Skilled in designing and maintaining continuous integration and delivery pipelines to streamline software deployment processes.

Modern Architecture & Performance: Familiar with event-driven systems and message brokers, container orchestration using OpenShift or cloud platforms, and optimizing performance with distributed caching solutions.
