People Operations Manager
As a People Operations Manager, you'll help us scale thoughtfully, keep culture alive, and build systems that make work feel more human, not more bureaucratic. Our Partners are the bridge between traditional HR fundamentals and the realities of our teams. You'll lean into data, creativity, and empathy, and you'll help MetroStar remain a place where people feel seen, heard, and energized. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in employee relations, people operations, compensation, and learning and professional development, along with experience influencing senior stakeholders and scaling people operations for a complex workforce.
We know that you can't have great technology services without amazing people. At MetroStar, we are obsessed with our people and have led a two-decade legacy of building the best and brightest teams. Because we know our future relies on our deep understanding and relentless focus on our people, we live by our mission: A passion for our people. Value for our customers.
If you think you can see yourself delivering our mission and pursuing our goals with us, then check out the job description below!
What You'll Do:
- Craft the Employee Journey: Design and elevate experiences across the full lifecycle: onboarding, development, growth, offboarding, with a "how does it feel to be human here?" lens.
- Enable Scalable People Ops: Architect tools, workflows, and operational systems that reduce friction, automate the repetitive, and free time for what matters.
- Be a Culture Advocate & Partner: Translate MetroStar's THINK values (Trust, Humility, Imagination, No Surprises, Kindness) into real practices, programs, and interactions. Work with leaders to reinforce a culture of transparency, experimentation, and growth.
- Support Leadership in People Strategy: Partner with people leaders on team design, feedback, development, and role evolution to help them become stronger human-centered leaders.
- Bridge Compliance & Community: Maintain legal, policy, and regulatory guardrails, but always with a lens of trust, fairness, and empathy.
- Use Data to Inform & Iterate: Build dashboards, metrics, and experiments to validate what's working (and what isn't) in our people practices.
- Ensure: that employees across the organization feel heard, supported, and valued in their work.
- Analyze: feedback and data to adjust how we work and improve our programs.
- Assist: in maintaining our culture and values in everyday decisions, even as our company grows.
- Use our people tools and processes easily
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- You have a solid grounding in HR fundamentals (employee relations, policies, compliance) but have spent time in or want to shift toward more strategic, systems-level work.
- 5-7+ years of experience in a People Ops / HRBP / Human Ops or similar role where you were expected to build, scale, or innovate, not just maintain.
- Curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to challenge the status quo.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity, weighing tradeoffs, and making decisions with incomplete information.
- Empathy, humility, and a collaborative spirit.
- Ability to build trust and influence across business leaders and teams.
- A bias toward action: you prototype, test, learn, and iterate.
- SPHR/SHRM-SCP a strong plus
