As a Failure Analysis Engineer at Meta, you will play an important role in determining rapid root cause analysis for issues that occur in new product development and reliability tests. You will advise on strategies to mitigate issues and make a direct impact on product design. We emphasize a collaborative and interdisciplinary approach to solve technical issues. We are looking for a team player. We are looking for an experienced individual who adheres to best-in-class lab practices, maintains an organized and clean laboratory environment, manages sample inventory, and follows all lab health and safety regulations. In this role, you will:

• Perform detailed root cause analysis on technically complex failures from reliability tests.
• Identify and define appropriate characterization techniques to root cause complex problems.
• Cross-correlate data from various techniques to drive towards conclusions.
• Hands-on work with various tools including x-ray imaging, microscopy, spectroscopy, and wet chemistry techniques.
• Provide on-the-ground support for failure analysis at manufacturing partner sites.

Minimum qualifications include:

• 2+ years of failure analysis experience.
• Hands-on work with various tools including x-ray imaging (2D X-ray/CT Scan), microscopy, SEM, FTIR, cross-section, dye-and-pry.
• Experience in consumer electronics, knowledge on PCBA, display module, audio module, adhesive, coating etc.
• MS or higher in physics, chemistry, materials science, mechanical engineering, etc.
• Ability to effectively communicate with US and China teams.
• This position can have up to 30% domestic travel to external labs/manufacturing partners.
