Mercy Hospital Washington is offering a part-time position for an RN in the Labor & Delivery department. The role is for nights with a shift of 24 hours per week. The 18-bed unit delivers care to a wide range of patients, including labor and delivery patients in LDRP rooms, postpartum/post-op rooms for mom/baby couplet care, post-op C-sections, and post-op gynecological surgical patients. The unit also has a well-newborn nursery and a level II special care nursery. The Mercy Childbirth Center offers 24/7 nursing care for women in labor, postpartum care, antepartum testing/observation, and triage of obstetrical patients. The unit handles high-risk maternity cases and facilitates transfer to a tertiary care facility if necessary.
The unit is high-energy and utilizes RNs and OB scrub techs, allowing nurses to cross-train to different areas. The qualifications required include a graduate degree from an accredited registered professional nursing program, a current RN license within the hiring state or compact licensure, L&D or mother/baby experience preferred, physical requirements to push, pull, and lift 50 pounds regularly, and certifications such as BLS and other unit-specific certifications.
