Data Science Manager - GTM

Back in 1991, Geoffrey Moore drew a bold line between early adopters and the mainstream—the "chasm"—and mapped how to cross it. Decades later, that segmentation-first GTM logic still guides how we pick beachheads, design categories, and align Marketing, Sales, and Success around a single target.

We are looking for a Data Science Manager who can build the theory and connect the dots behind how we get people to join Mercury and continue to adopt new products. In this role, you'll be responsible for deeply understanding our customers, the systems of distribution for Mercury, designing how we are driving towards the overarching business and financial goals. You'll work closely with Marketing, Revenue, and Finance teams to drive topline growth and monitor company financials.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 4 senior IC data scientists supporting the Marketing, Revenue, and Finance organizations.
  • Proactively discover and define opportunities to level up the craft, strategy, and execution of how our GTM functions use data.
  • Set the direction and define prioritized roadmaps for the team; ensuring we're focused on work that drives Mercury's user growth and financials.
  • Work in ambiguity and be able to set and achieve priorities that find the perfect balance between both growth and financial needs.
  • Help drive company level strategy across GTM functions.

We're looking for a motivated data leader who cares deeply about craft and feels energized by opportunities to work across GTM teams to deliver a cohesive experience for our top of funnel users. A successful candidate will likely have:

  • 5+ years of analytics experience, with 2+ years managing analytics teams.
  • Experience in Marketing, Revenue, or Finance teams.
  • Strong data analysis and data story telling skills.
  • Experience with LTV and CAC analyses.

The total rewards package at Mercury includes base salary, equity (stock options), and benefits. Our salary and equity ranges are highly competitive within the SaaS and fintech industry and are updated regularly using the most reliable compensation survey data for our industry. New hire offers are made based on a candidate's experience, expertise, geographic location, and internal pay equity relative to peers.

Our target new hire base salary ranges for this role are the following:

  • US employees (any location): $200,700 - $250,900 USD
  • Canadian employees (any location): CAD 189,700 - 237,100
