Director, Us Pharma Payer Marketing Ophthalmology

The Director, US Pharma Payer Marketing Ophthalmology leads a team of payer marketers dedicated to developing access strategies and tactics for our ophthalmology portfolio targeting Diabetic Macular Edema (DME) and Age-related Macular Degeneration (wAMD). The Director will work closely with the US Commercial Leader and the associated brand Customer Agile teams to build value evidence strategies and tactics using input from data & analytics, Integrated Account Management, Outcomes Research and other stakeholder groups.

This role will report directly to the US Pharma Payer Marketing Lead as a member of the Payer Marketing leadership team and will actively participate in all brand and business reviews.

The Director partners with leaders in Marketing, Integrated Account Management, Policy, Sales & Legal to develop strategies and tactics to attain profitable market access for our ophthalmology portfolio. The Director will be a subject matter expert on US health care ecosystem, interconnectivity of private and public payors, hospital delivery systems, as well as policy trends within the context of the US Pharma portfolio across life cycle. The Director will also oversee pricing strategies and represent US Pharma in market level pricing discussions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with US commercial leaders and leadership team to inform access strategy planning, related brand strategy planning, and customer planning/execution
  • Build a high performing Chapter of payer marketing associate directors through competency development and coaching
  • Collaborate with IAM leadership and account executives across segments on business plans and incorporating customer/market insights into implementation of customer programs
  • Oversee pricing & contracting strategies and represent US Pharma in market level pricing discussions
  • Active participation in the development of value evidence strategies; strong coordination with CORE / VEAM (Value Engagement Team)
  • Addressing implications and opportunities associated with critical policy issues (e.g., 340B, IRA, AMR, HIV). Work to inform and shape policy with Washington and State Government Affairs
  • Support commercial assessments related to access & pricing for pipeline and business development assets

Education Minimum Requirements:

  • Required: BA/BS
  • Preferred: MBA

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 7 years marketing, payer and/or account management experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the mechanics, influencers and economics of US healthcare ecosystem.
  • Demonstration of strategy development, scenario planning and guidance of pull through execution.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated track record of building and leading high performing teams, including agile teams.

Desired Experience and Skills:

  • Knowledge of digital platforms for customer analytics and customer engagement.
  • Account Management/Contract Negotiation experience.
  • Ophthalmology access and/or buy and bill experience.
  • Experience spanning functional boundaries to effectively prioritize work and build partnerships.

Preferred Skills:

The salary range for this role is $187,000.00 - $294,400.00. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.

The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
