Community Youth Program Support Specialist

Provides support to community youth and their families including informal counseling, care coordination, and overseeing the daily operations of the program's services. Responsibilities include:

• Providing case management, care coordination, and informal counseling for clients and families enrolled in the program.
• Evaluating and assessing the needs of the clients and families.
• Developing and maintaining daily activity schedules.
• Transporting clients and families to appointments and/or community resources, when needed.
• Completing surveys and/or assessments with clients and families and reporting outcome data to the program's Team Leader.

Education and Certification Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree (required)

• BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)

Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication (written and verbal) skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Must be able to handle a heavy case load and multi-task. Must be able to work a flexible schedule.

Required Work Experience: No experience needed.

Other Information: Must have a valid Florida driver's license, be cleared by Legal to be added to Memorial Healthcare System's insurance, and have a personal vehicle available during work hours as position requires extensive travel throughout Broward County.

Additional Education Info: Bachelor's degree required.

Additional Credential Info: New hires or employees new to the position have six (6) months to obtain the Basic Life Saving (BLS) Certification.
