We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sr. Strategic Sourcing Specialist - IT Services - to support Medtronic Minimed's IT organization's sourcing and contracting needs. This individual will play a key role in driving value through strategic sourcing initiatives, complex RFPs, and contract negotiations, with a deep understanding of IT services, cloud licensing, hardware and OEM, and vendor management. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in IT services sourcing, including software, cloud services (IaaS PaaS, SaaS), and on-prem solutions, combined with excellent business acumen, collaboration skills, and a working knowledge of privacy and security regulations in the bio med industry. This is a high impact, cross-functional role that requires the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, interacting regularly with business stakeholders, Legal, Finance, COEs, PMO and leadership. The role will report into a Sr Sourcing Manager – Professional Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead global sourcing initiatives for IT Services, software, and cloud-based solutions.
  • Manage and analyze complex RFPs and competitive bidding processes with a focus on driving cost, value, and innovation.
  • Develop, negotiate and execute contracts and amendments with key IT vendors, ensuring alignment with internal policies and regulatory standards.
  • Provide expert guidance on IT pricing models, standard market rates, vendor performance, and licensing structures.
  • Ensure sourcing activities align with security, privacy, and compliance requirements specific to the medical device industry (HIPAA, GDPR, ISO 27001, etc.)
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with IT stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with business priorities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with business stakeholders, leadership, Legal, Finance, PMO, and other internal stakeholders to ensure smooth contract lifecycle management and vendor onboarding.
  • Monitor and manage vendor performance, risk, and renewals proactively.
  • Stay abreast of technology trends, emerging suppliers, and changes in market conditions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Supply Chain, or related field and 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.

Nice to have:

  • Proven track record of delivering cost savings and service improvements in a global, matrixed environment.
  • Strong Knowledge of IT vendor landscape, pricing benchmarks, and standard contract terms.
  • Familiarity with security and privacy regulations in the medical device or a highly regulated industry.
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Must be able to work onsite in Northridge, CA, 3 days a week.
  • Experience working in highly regulated industry (medical device, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industries is strongly preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of contract negotiation, supplier performance management, and regulatory compliance (FDA, ISO 13485).
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in sourcing and contract management tools (e.g., Coupa, Ariba, SAP).
  • Experience with digital sourcing platforms or analytics tools.
  • Global sourcing experience is a strong advantage.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD): $82,400.00 - $123,600.00 This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
