Responsibilities may include the following and other functions may be assigned. Develop, modify, integrate, and maintain protocols and quality standards to process product materials with total or partially finished materials. Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are set. Formulate and implement methods and procedures to inspect, test, and evaluate the precision and accuracy of production products and equipment. Design or specify inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment; conduct quality assurance tests; and perform statistical analyses to evaluate the cost and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet the required specifications or standards. - Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is consistent with requirements. May need to specialize in areas of design, incoming materials, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control, and/or research and development in terms of process or product quality.
Technical Specialist Career Stream: An individual contributor with responsibility in our technical functions to advance existing technology or introduce new technologies and therapies. Formulates, delivers, and/or manages assigned projects and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower-level professionals. The majority of the time is spent delivering R&D, systems, or initiatives related to new technologies or therapies, from design to implementation, while adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills.

Essential Knowledge and Experience: Requires practical knowledge and demonstrated competence within the work area typically acquired through a combination of advanced education and experience. Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or for degrees obtained outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2 (h) (4) (iii) (A) and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 0 years of experience.
