Principal Sales Training & Education Specialist

The Principal Sales Training & Education Specialist is a highly visible and critical part of our Medtronic ENT (Ear, Nose & Throat) Global Marketing Team. You will work on global ENT training plans for the Chronic Rhinosinusitis Therapies, which includes a specialized focus on localized drug delivery, balloon technologies, and the office site of service.

As the Principal Sales Training & Education Specialist, your focus is to deliver world-class sales training to our commercial team, with products that have emphasis in sinus procedures. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders including Marketing, Clinical, Medical Education, and Sales Leadership to plan, develop and execute new hire, product launch and advanced training. The curriculums will align to the key business strategies. You will identify areas of continuous improvement and implement best practices across the team to maximize learning and impact to the organization.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Plans, develops, coordinates, and delivers in-house product training programs for field sales, clinical specialists, and occasionally with customers.
  • Obtains information needed to prepare in-house training programs; prepares training materials; develops course content; determines methodology; and coordinates the development of training aids.
  • Ensures training program(s) meets company and customer objectives.
  • Develops deep understanding of procedural use for ENT product lines and develops effective continuing education programs for sales professionals to deepen product acumen and enable competitive selling strategies.
  • Maintains competitive product knowledge for the dissemination to the field teams.
  • May utilize trainers with technical expertise.
  • Develops and maintain strong field and marketing relationships.
  • In conjunction with the product marketing team, prepare and support activities for new product launches including sales messaging and training and education tools.
  • Collaborates effectively with team and other departments (Global Marketing, Medical Affairs, R&D, etc.), to ensure necessary alignment, support, and input to training plans and projects.
  • Continuously revises lesson plans to meet new training requirements and to keep technical information up to date.
  • Prefer Jacksonville location, open to remote worker
  • Travel 20% - 30%

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 11+ years of relevant experience in a clinical lab setting, clinical training, field sales/support in medical device/healthcare industry, education curriculum and classroom facilitation or equivalent experience (OR Associate's Degree with 9+ years experience OR Baccalaureate Degree with 7+ years experience).

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience in a role where you helped arrange, manage, and execute training programs.
  • Ability to analyze and communicate clinical study designs and results.
  • Background in office site of care and/or pharmaceutical curriculum
  • Comfortable with data and analytics and using systems like SFDC, excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams/SharePoint, etc.
  • Experience working with Healthcare Professionals (HCP's), Marketing and Sales.

Medtronic offers a competitive Salary and flexible Benefits Package

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$109,600.00 - $164,400.00 This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
