Job Description Summary

This position is responsible for ensuring that client dental equipment functions correctly. The work focuses mainly on troubleshooting and repairing equipment, as well as supporting equipment installation and selling maintenance contracts.

Job Description

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain a high level of customer service:

  • Respond promptly to service requests
  • Follow up on commitments to clients and internal colleagues
  • Listen to client problems
  • Communicate client information to sales representatives and service clerks
  • Complete work orders
  • Maintain appropriate tools, supplies, and parts in the vehicle

Maintain client equipment:

  • Document equipment problems and completed repairs
  • Diagnose equipment problems and make arrangements for necessary parts, supplies, or tools
  • Communicate equipment problems and recommended repairs to clients
  • Adjust, repair, or calibrate equipment according to manufacturer specifications
  • Follow up on maintenance contracts

Handle new equipment installations:

  • Follow up on determined timelines
  • Verify that equipment is set up according to manufacturer specifications
  • Sell maintenance contracts

Maintain a safe and respectful environment:

  • Report incidents, injuries, or narrowly avoided incidents
  • Behave in accordance with Sinclair policies
  • Participate in ongoing training programs

EDUCATION

  • Training or certification from dental equipment manufacturers
  • Certification, diploma in mechanics, electronics, small machine repair, etc. is an asset

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working with dental equipment from major manufacturers is an asset
  • Experience in mechanics, electrical, electronics, pneumatic, hydraulic and/or plumbing
  • Experience with the installation of compressor systems

SKILLS

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to solve problems
  • Ability to plan and organize work schedule with limited supervision
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Bilingualism required

SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION

  • Daily travel from one dental office to another
  • Valid Canadian driver’s license or equivalent and clean driving record
  • Available to work evenings and weekends to respond to emergency calls
  • Periodically required to travel overnight to provide client support
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs)
  • Manual dexterity to handle hand tools and small power tools

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$58,100.00 - $87,100.00 Annual
