Job Description

In collaboration with the sales/business development and client operations team, coordinate and deploy strategies for effective data management, reporting, and initiatives to assist the organization in achieving revenue growth targets and market position. This position works cross-functionally within the organization to manage differentiated business development and go-to-market activities, including process improvement initiatives, sales performance measurement and reporting, sales prospect pipeline reporting, and sales/revenue data analysis.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and leaders in sales/business development, product innovation, quality and enterprise solutions to:
    • Understand and manage data collection and analytics in support of new sales and client maintenance and expansion activity.
    • Track, capture, and report success and failure metrics (e.g., debrief data)
    • Develop and manage data to support market development activities.
  • Reporting and analytics:
    • Own, refine, and maintain integrity of recurring and automated CRM reports, including ad hoc and dashboard reports, based on stakeholder (e.g., sales/business development, marketing, client operations, etc.) needs.
    • Develop and maintain reports (standard and ad hoc) to support internal and external analytics.
    • Aid in reviewing book of business reporting.
    • Prepare and manage sales/business development pipeline.
    • Review digital marketing initiatives along with external Marketing firm and course correct activity as needed.
  • CRM configuration and support:
    • Ensure new CRM is maintained and optimally performing as they relate to sales and marketing operations and reportability.
    • Serve as business unit SME on CRM:
      • Aid in the implementation and management of CRM to meet business needs.
      • Analyze CRM data outputs and distill strategic and actionable insights for leadership.
    • Share and assist in preparing market/product competitive intelligence (including case studies)
    • Support ongoing development and refinement of business development operations and deliverables.
    • Make recommendations and lead initiatives to drive performance and increase efficacy and effectiveness.
    • Consistently meet deadlines and provide high quality project execution.
    • Balance multiple complex projects
    • Aid in the management of team activities at Tradeshows and Conferences:
      • Track and monitor all trade events including recommendations for future activity.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Supervisory responsibilities: No supervisory responsibilities

    Client responsibilities: This is an internal and external client facing position that requires excellent customer service skills and interpersonal communication skills. One must be able to; manage difficult or emotional client situations; respond promptly to client needs; solicit client feedback to improve service; respond to requests for service and assistance from clients; meet commitments to clients.

    Education and/or Experience: BS/BA and 7+ years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, and 4 years of SME in respective areas

    Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel & Powerpoint.

    Reasoning Ability:

    • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

    Mathematical Skills:

    • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
    • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

    Language Skills:

    • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

    Work Location:

    This position works on-site at the San Diego Headquarters or other company location (or from a remote location with management approval based on business requirements). Must provide adequate support to internal clients; be available for regular interactions and coordination of work with other employees, colleagues, clients, or vendors; as well as be available to facilitate effective decisions through collaboration with stakeholders.

    Working Hours:

    This is an exempt level position requiring the incumbent to work the hours required to fully accomplish job responsibilities and reasonable meet deadlines for work deliverables. The individual must have the flexibility to work beyond traditional hours and be able to work nights, weekends or on holidays as required. Work hours may be changed from time to time to meet the needs of the business. Typical core business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
