This grant funded, temporary part time position (20 hours per week) will give presentations to teens and adults, teach healthy relationships to teens and youth, attend/plan events for violence awareness, help with volunteer trainings, and maintain reporting information, including outcome measures and evaluation. Other responsibilities may include team meetings, community resource tables, workshops at events, or working with a teen group to promote awareness and education for teen dating violence. The position will be a part of the Prevention & Intervention Services violence prevention team to prevent incidents of domestic violence, teen dating violence, family violence, and intimate partner violence in Mecklenburg County.
Completes client screening and intake Assists in data entry, file maintenance, copying client information, etc Communicates daily with the public Communicates effectively and clearly to clients when explaining services Disseminates information on documents required, services available and community resources to clients in a professional manner Maintains up-to-date knowledge of available resources Makes referrals to the appropriate community resources Prepares reports as needed Reviews information provided by clients and determines if it meets basic requirements for eligibility Maintains records of services provided and contacts with clients Schedules appointments as necessary Conducts community education and outreach
Experience: A minimum of two years of experience in related field. Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D. Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted? Yes Licenses and Certifications: Requires a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver's license Requires County Driving Privileges Annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check required
Experience in training / public speaking, public awareness education, and program development. Experience with domestic violence and teen dating violence. Previous experience in social work and working in a community setting or related field. Associate's degree in a related field preferred. Degree preference in a human services field, such as Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, etc.
