Production Support
Support production in the following areas: Sales order management, forecast management, and customer interface. This position is located in Wayland, MI.
Responsibilities

- Enters sales orders and acknowledges ship dates.
- Monitors pricing on in-coming orders to ensure they match quotes to avoid short pays.
- Revises schedules and issues work orders to suit order changes, cancellations and/or revised forecasts.
- Determines revised plan in the event of failures to meet schedules.
- Notifies customer in the event of failures in meeting shipping schedules. Works with customers to prevent line down situations at customers.
- Follows up on customer requests for information on shipments.
- Coordinates scheduled shipments with the Shipping Department
- Requests updated forecast from customers on a bi-weekly or monthly basis. Reviews and evaluates forecasts received via EDI, fax, mail, etc. Enters forecast by part number into the system to reflect information received from customer.
- Researches late parts, identifies and brings bottlenecks to manufacturing's attention.
- Works closely with engineering to implement engineering changes. Monitors structure (bill of material) problems.
- Expedites, as needed, any late deliveries from outside vendors, sub-contract, etc.
- Tracks on time delivery as well as late shipments with reason as to why the shipments are late by department.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience Associates Degree in related field; or 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
