Position Summary

MDVIP, an innovative leader in the healthcare industry, is seeking a remote-based athena EHR Training and Support Specialist to provide our MDVIP-affiliated physician practices with exceptional application support and to ensure practices are able to optimize their use of the athena Electronic Health Record platform. The qualified candidate can develop an understanding of each practice's system set-up, office workflow, and practice goals to make innovative recommendations to further ensure their ongoing success. Support is provided telephonically, over email communication, as well as via web-based screen sharing sessions.

Success in this telecommuting role depends on the ability to build trust and maintain strong relationships with affiliated physicians and their staff, internal MDVIP teams, and external vendors. It also requires consistent, high-quality client support delivered in a timely and professional manner. Remote staff must have adequate workspace & high-speed internet service to perform their responsibilities effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver best-in-class software support and training to physician practices by identifying needs, applying problem-solving techniques, and ensuring timely resolution of inquiries.
  • Manage and prioritize the support queue to ensure prompt and effective responses.
  • Plan, lead, and execute multiple concurrent projects with minimal supervision.
  • Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in athenaClinicals and athenaCommunicator.
  • Lead configuration and setup for new EHR tablespaces and user accounts.
  • Conduct individual MIPS reviews with affiliates and their staff to support compliance with CMS guidelines and maximize incentive opportunities.
  • Create, update, and deliver training on key modules to enhance user satisfaction and product understanding.
  • Collaborate with the EHR team to develop and maintain instructional materials for physicians and staff.
  • Maintain comprehensive case documentation in Salesforce to facilitate effective collaboration, timely escalation, and resolution tracking.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree or higher in a relevant discipline preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience where two years related experience equals one year of schooling.

Required Skills:

  • At least two years athenaClinicals training or support experience.
  • Solid understanding of EHRs and medical office workflow.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving complex issues.

Desired Skills:

  • Direct experience using an EHR in a primary care medical office setting.
  • Understanding of MIPS program.
  • Proven ability to successfully work autonomously from a home office setting.

Computer Skills:

An intermediate skill level for Microsoft Excel and Word, and an advanced level of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams/Zoom or similar program. Basic skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and Salesforce (or other CRM).

Telecommuter roles: This role is approved for home-based work, from the location identified at the time of hire and must be able to work the assigned schedule. Any change of work location, even on a short-term or interim basis, must be reviewed by the Supervisor and HR and approved at the sole discretion and approval of executive leadership.

Compensation and Benefits

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across appropriate US geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and education/training and a candidate's work experience. Hired applicants are offered annual incentive compensation programs, subject to applicable eligibility requirements. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
