The McGill University Department of Psychiatry in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and the Douglas Mental Health University Institute are currently inviting applications for a full-time position as member of the Contract Academic Staff at the rank of Assistant Professor (Clinical). This will be a three-year, renewable appointment and does not confer eligibility for tenure.

The successful candidate will be appointed to clinical practice at the Douglas Mental Health University Institute and be expected to contribute to clinical activity in a variety of settings within the Psychiatry service. The Douglas Mental Health University Institute is part of the Montréal West Island Integrated University Health and Social Services Centre, whose mission is to offer cutting-edge care and advance and share knowledge in mental health.
Job Duties
The successful candidate will be involved in the academic activities of the McGill University Department of Psychiatry. The incumbent will care for patients suffering from refractory schizophrenia, both inpatient and outpatient, in an innovative approach aimed at developing new therapeutic avenues.
The incumbent will be expected to have a broad range of clinical abilities and aptitudes for working in interdisciplinary teams within the Psychiatry program. They will be expected to have a strong academic track record demonstrated by experience in education and/or an active research dossier.
In addition to patient care activities, the successful candidate will also be expected to be actively involved in relevant aspects of McGill's academic mission (e.g., research, teaching, supervision of students and residents, and involvement in academic and administrative committees).
All McGill faculty members are also expected to contribute to service activities within their units, the University, and the wider scholarly community. A demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion is also expected.
