Responsibilities:
In this capacity, the principal platform integration engineer will lead and direct the execution and delivery of all technical aspects of Mayo Clinic Platform's technology roadmap. Working with the VP, Platform Technology, this team member will provide technical guidance around roadmap and timelines for the platform technology roadmap. Working closely with the assigned Mayo IT Technical Architect, the Principal Platform Engineer will also serve as a technical liaison with other functions within the enterprise. The position will be responsible for the following essential functions:
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant information technology field or a minimum 10 years of direct full-stack engineering with increasing complexity or 5 years in a principal engineer capacity.
• 3-5 years project management, system architecture, and design.
• 3-5 years working in diverse environments utilizing Agile principles of software development.
• Principal level experience with hyperscale cloud environments and their configurations (Google preferred. AWS or Azure considered).
• Experience with enterprise information security systems and application in a public cloud environment. Understanding of healthcare specific considerations such as HIPAA and HITRUST strongly desired.
• Principal level experience in DevOps and CI/CD principles.
• Experience directly delivering and supporting clinical systems.
• Experience with cloud architecture, deployments, and management in an enterprise setting.
• Experience with interoperability standards such as HL7 and FHIR.
• Experience with solutions integration/delivery in a healthcare setting.
Desired Characteristics:
• Experience in driving and leading technology development and technical capability to guide strategically and manage resources.
• Experience with technology change management specifically around SDLC end of life and feature migration processes.
• Business acumen, to gauge not just what can be done but to know what can be completed cost effectively and sustainably.
• This person must have the ability to promote and explain technology initiatives to business leaders outside of the technology organization and to external partners and customers.
• The selected individual must combine a solid technical foundation with forward-looking strategic skills to help develop a platform strategy to enable Mayo Clinic to capitalize on emerging technologies.
• Ability to think beyond the technology itself and will understand key business drivers that ensure technology investment will provide substantial value or improvements to customers.
