✨ About The Role
- The Site Autonomy Engineer will be responsible for hands-on support of the operational fleet, including vehicle upfits, sensor calibrations, and testing of feature improvements
- Tasks include debugging electrical and mechanical issues, performing preventative maintenance, and implementing hardware changes in the field
- The engineer will assist in testing the autonomous operation of vehicles to ensure safety and rider comfort, as well as coordinating and developing on-site configuration and deployment of autonomous technology
- Responsibilities also include data acquisition using vehicle sensor suite, maintaining local mapping assets, and assisting in fleet cleanliness and demo readiness
- The role requires a safety-first approach to all work, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in standard office conditions
âš¡ Requirements
- Experience in mechanical or electrical engineering, or relevant field, with a Bachelor's degree preferred
- Comfortable working in computing environments, especially Linux, and able to read and understand mechanical and electrical schematics
- Strong problem-solving skills with a safety-first approach to work, able to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good communication skills to report issues and successes to the engineering team
- Familiarity with Git and GitHub or Gitlab is a plus, with a systems-level thinking approach to tasks
