As the Sales & Marketing Manager, you will lead and support a growing team of experienced in-home Sales / Design Consultants (three senior and two junior). Your focus is to strengthen consultative selling practices, maintain pricing discipline, and ensure projects are set up for success. You will partner closely with Marketing and Operations to create a seamless client journey from first inquiry through installation, while reinforcing a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and values-aligned decision making.
In This Role, You Will:
- Lead, coach, and develop the sales team through in-field coaching, accompanied sales consultations, structured training sessions, and regular performance feedback.
- Reinforce a trust-based, consultative in-home sales approach tailored to residential homeowners.
- Ensure accurate scoping, pricing discipline, and margin protection throughout the sales process.
- Maintain CRM accuracy and pipeline transparency, ensuring consistent lead follow-up and nurturing.
- Partner closely with Operations to support smooth project handoffs and proactive customer communication.
- Collaborate with Marketing on lead flow, campaign effectiveness, and showroom / event activity.
- Champion values-aligned performance standards and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Governance & Profit Protection
- Safeguard company reputation and profitability by enforcing ethical and compliant sales practices.
- Review and approve all sales agreements to ensure pricing, structure, and documentation meet company standards.
- Guarantee contracts align with financial targets and operational capabilities.
Revenue Leadership & Goal Achievement
- Own the company's annual sales plan; achieve defined revenue and margin goals.
- Analyze performance metrics (close rates, margin, average ticket, rehash success) to optimize profitability.
- Convert missed consultations into re-hash opportunities and manage a structured re-engagement program.
- Maintain weekly scorecards tracking demo rate, close rate, referral rate, and average sale value.
Sales Team Development & Coaching
- Recruit, hire, and onboard Design Consultants / Sales Reps aligned with company culture.
- Train and certify reps in the Four Seasons 10 Habits sales model and trust-based in-home consultation process.
- Conduct scheduled training meetings, ride-alongs, and quality-control calls to evaluate performance.
- Review "pitch / miss" recordings and provide feedback to reinforce proper protocol.
- Coach underperformers, recognize top performers, and foster a culture of accountability and growth.
Sales Operations & Systems
- Oversee assignment of confirmed appointments to sales reps by skill and territory.
- Maintain CRM data accuracy, enforce follow-up protocols, and monitor pipeline conversion.
- Manage all sales tools – demo kits, presentation materials, financing programs, software, and hardware.
- Implement inspection routines to ensure consistent execution and adherence to the sales model.
Marketing Collaboration & Lead Generation
- Partner with Marketing to ensure a full appointment calendar and consistent lead flow.
- Oversee appointment setters, showroom hosts, and the marketing coordinator.
- Support home shows, events, and promotional campaigns; ensure brand alignment and lead quality.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Operations to optimize lead management, referral programs, and client nurturing funnels.
Product & Market Expansion
- Research and introduce complementary products or service offerings to expand market share.
- Work with engineering and operations to validate feasibility, pricing, and delivery.
- Monitor industry trends and competitive offerings to maintain leadership in the outdoor-living category.
Leadership & Communication
- Participate in executive and leadership meetings; contribute to strategic planning and quarterly goal setting.
- Serve as an advocate for the sales team within leadership discussions while upholding company standards.
- Promote alignment between Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Finance to ensure seamless client experience.
- Model professional, positive, and ethical behavior in all interactions.
