Become an essential part of our highly skilled team as a Systems Engineer. This advanced role demands a seasoned technical and managerial expert to lead and manage systems engineering projects supporting critical DoD-related programs. You will oversee a single systems acquisition program or a major functional area, using your expertise in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to develop strategies and conduct technical analysis. This position is ideal for a self-starter who excels in remote work environments and is capable of working independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the systems engineering lifecycle for acquisition programs/projects or major functional areas.
- Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods to develop technical analysis, strategies, and solutions.
- Oversee network engineering and configuration of data information systems supporting program objectives.
- Support or lead program management functions, ensuring integration of technical and managerial goals.
- Facilitate business process reengineering and specialty engineering disciplines such as:
- Communications engineering
- Systems safety
- Quality assurance
- Test and evaluation
- Human factors analysis
- Reliability and maintainability
- Systems security
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure system requirements and designs meet program goals.
- Utilize Atlassian tools like Confluence and JIRA for documentation, issue tracking, and workflow management.
- Prepare and present detailed reports, documentation, and briefings related to systems engineering efforts.
Qualifications
- Security Clearance
- TS/SCI clearance is required
- Educational Requirements
- Master's Degree in Systems Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in systems engineering roles, with a preference for candidates having 20+ years.
- Proven experience managing systems acquisition programs/projects or major functional areas in a government or DoD context.
- Expertise in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methods.
- Demonstrated technical analysis and strategy development capabilities.
- Experience with network engineering and configuration management of complex data systems.
- Familiarity with acquisition management and business process reengineering.
- Experience with specialty engineering disciplines as listed above.
- Strong background in systems security and reliability.
- Experience working remotely and executing responsibilities independently.
- Skills & Tools
- Proficiency in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and frameworks.
- Familiarity with Atlassian tool suite (Confluence, JIRA).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage complex programs and integrate multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
