Senior Director Of Financial Services

The Senior Director Of Financial Services provides strategic leadership and oversight to the Accounts Payable (AP), Representative Payee (Rep Payee), and HUD teams. This role is responsible for managing all transactional and operational accounting functions within these groups, driving process improvements, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency, and strengthening internal controls.

Responsibilities include:

• Lead, supervise, and support the AP, Rep Payee, and HUD teams to ensure high performance and accountability.
• Deliver training and technical guidance to team members as needed.
• Analyze and optimize business processes to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery.
• Maintain and update policies and procedures related to AP, Rep Payee, and HUD functions.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration to build trust, drive results, and support organizational goals.
• Serve as the escalation point for AP, Rep Payee, and HUD-related issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
• Apply analytical thinking to assess both high-level strategy and detailed financial operations.
• Collaborate with the Corporate Controller on financial governance and compliance matters.
• Actively participate in supervision and staff meetings.
• Ensure that clients are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with Advocates' Human Rights policies.
• Adhere to all principles related to the Advocates Way.
• Perform all duties in accordance with the agency's policies and procedures.
• Strictly follow all agency Performance Standards.

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Accounting, Business, or Healthcare Management.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in AP, Rep Payee, and HUD functions, and general accounting.
• At least 5 years of management experience; controllership experience preferred.
• Experience working with auditors is a plus.
• Industry certifications (e.g., CHFP, SHRM-CP) are preferred.
• Proficiency in financial systems such as Business Central, Adaptive Planning, ADP, and RPM.
• Advanced Excel skills required.
• Proven ability to hire, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial audiences.
• High energy, strong interpersonal skills, and a collaborative mindset.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
