Job Location: Northampton, MA

L3Harris is actively seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in Northampton, MA. In this role, you will be part of a collaborative group of software engineers dedicated to developing software for US Navy and international programs, focusing on Periscope and Optronic Software Systems.

Essential Functions

  • Utilize your knowledge in computer science, engineering, and mathematics to create robust software solutions for targeted applications.
  • Work collaboratively with experienced engineers to understand and contribute to the interface between hardware and software, ensuring systems meet operational performance requirements.
  • Participate actively in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, hands-on hardware/software integration, and testing of embedded software for real-time control systems.
  • Assist in the development of software test procedures and programs, and contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation.
  • Engage in peer reviews, learn to identify, track, and remedy defects to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.

Qualifications

A Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field is required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages and technologies such as C++, C, Java, VHDL, SQL, Qt.
  • Familiarity with lab equipment such as JTAG debugging, oscilloscope, and logic analyzers.
  • Familiarity with operating systems and platforms including Windows, Linux, and an understanding of real-time operating systems (RTOS) from academic projects.
  • An academic background that includes subjects related to real-time controls, software security, robotics, and embedded systems.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Massachusetts is $74,000 - $138,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
