Research Support Administrator, School Of Public Health, Epidemiology

The Department Of Epidemiology At The Bu School Of Public Health Is Seeking A Research Support Administrator Responsible For Coordinating Everyday Operations Of Several Research Grants Related To Social Epidemiology. The Research Support Administrator Will Handle Project-Specific Administrative And Support Tasks To Include All Calendaring, Document Sharing, Support For Special Projects And Events Related To The Activities, Uploading And Formatting Documents Such As Manuscripts, And Bio-Sketches And Preparing For External Presentations. Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Performing key administrative functions and operational support. This involves assisting with the planning and coordination of research meetings and events, managing room reservations, room setup arrangements, and catering orders for grant-related events; preparing slides and documents for presentations and publications; tracking and following up on action items.
  • Responsible for ensuring calendaring for all meetings related to the projects.
  • Assist with the submission of manuscripts to journals, prepare bio-sketches, and other frequently requested documents; perform routine data entry; assist in the coordination and completion of special projects.
  • Assist in planning outreach and mentoring activities for engaging students and others.
  • Send routine information for upcoming talks and track those talks and related activities for progress reporting.

This is a half-time position and can be flexible within the hours of 8am to 6pm Mon-Fri when the individual works, although some special scheduling and evenings/weekends may be required when staffing events. This position requires at least 2 days/week in the office, but the remainder of days can be in the office or remote, provided the individual is available as needed for special events.

Required Skills:

  • Associates degree.
  • 1-3 years of experience. Experience in a university setting is preferred.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated skills with MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and google docs.
  • Demonstrated skills with Qualtrics, Zotero or other citation manager software, and/or basic AI tools preferred but not essential.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a high volume, deadline-oriented, customer-focused environment.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information with appropriate discretion and sensitivity.
  • Must be committed to providing the highest level of customer service and responsiveness.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
