Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and completing broadly defined quality engineering tasks, assignments, or small projects to ensure compliance with customer technical expectations. Responsibilities include providing technical support to Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing regarding product and process inspection, audit, sampling plans, process controls, and statistical applications. They also set-up, develop, and continuously improve inspection systems and techniques through data analysis, SPC, and auditing. Additionally, the role involves providing quality system development and systems auditing for the division, technical support to purchasing regarding supplier capability, quality status, inspection test methods, and non-conformance. The Quality Engineer performs root cause analysis and prepares corrective action reports, maintains documentation of the quality systems, conducts quality audits to ensure internal compliance, analyzes quality trends and participates in process improvement activities, builds solid relationships with Quality personnel from customers to assure key characteristics and contractual requirements are met, and validates corrective and preventative action effectiveness propagating best practices.

Essential Skills include experience in Quality Engineering, Audit, Root Cause Analysis, and CAPA, familiarity with Aerospace or Military Standards, knowledge of IPC 610, PCBA, 8D, 5 WHY, ISO 9001, IPC, 610, AS9100 standards, a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics OR an equivalent combination of education and experience, and 3-5 years of relevant experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications include Microsoft Office and web proficiency, experience in electronics processing manufacturing, working knowledge of electronic component manufacturing processes, knowledge of quality systems and techniques, process control including SPC, and team facilitation methods. ASQ CQE certification is preferred or willingness to pursue.

Work Environment: This position operates in a manufacturing environment with a schedule of 10-hour shifts and every Friday off. The role requires engagement with various departments to ensure quality compliance and continuous improvement.

Job Type & Location: This is a Permanent position based out of Marlborough, MA. Pay range is $100000.00 - $115000.00/yr.
