Our client, a leading organization in facility management and building operations, is seeking an Operating Engineer to join their team. As an Operating Engineer, you will be part of the Facilities Operations Department supporting the Maintenance and Engineering team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, proactive problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Operating Engineer
Location: Cambridge, MA
Pay Range: $37/h-$39/hr based on experience
Work Shift: Monday-Friday 6:00 am -2:00 pm; On Call as needed
Operate and maintain essential building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire/life safety, and temperature controls
Respond to system alarms and troubleshoot issues using Building Automation Systems (BAS) and manufacturer standards
Conduct regular building rounds, document engineering logs, and perform routine inspections
Perform maintenance and repairs on steam systems, humidifiers, and steam traps to ensure optimal operation
Support contractor activities, respond to facility emergencies, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
High School diploma or GED
2nd Class Fireman's License for the state of Massachusetts
Minimum of 1 year of facility-related work experience
Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and CMMS tools
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and work at heights using ladders or stairs
