Mechanical Tooling Design Engineer

Job Title

Seeking an experienced engineer to design mechanical tooling and alignment fixtures for a manufacturing environment. This role involves close collaboration with design engineers, drafters, and machinists. Fully onsite Monday–Friday. Responsibilities include: designing tooling and alignment fixtures to support manufacturing and optical assembly, collaborating with design engineers to develop tooling concepts, creating detailed drawings using Creo Parametric or SolidWorks or CATIA, and applying GD&T principles to ensure precision and manufacturability. Work with drafters and machinists to support fabrication.

Skills and requirements include 4–5+ years of experience in mechanical tooling and fixturing design, a strong understanding of GD&T and drafting practices, proficiency in Creo Parametric CAD software, a mechanical engineering degree preferred, experience with optical components or systems preferred, and precision machining experience preferred.
