Manufacturing Engineer

Join Medtronic's Danvers site in this exciting role as a Manufacturing Engineer. The Danvers site has been part of Medtronic since 1984 and serves several internal partners that require delivery systems for its therapies. A Danvers product impacts a customer somewhere in the world about every 2 seconds. The site supports eleven Medtronic OUs with finished goods and components and employs over 1000 people. The site operates several product lines like: Guide Catheter, Export, PWP, Guardwire, Enveo, Spiderman, MRI, CryoCath, Fusion, Micra, Needle, TrailBlazer, React, Bolero and Sensight.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
  • Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
  • Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
  • Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
  • Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
  • Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.
  • Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Requires a Baccalaureate degree and minimum of 2 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with a minimum of 0 years relevant experience.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with clean room manufacturing, medical components manufacturing and injection molding.
  • Preferred degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Industrial or Plastics Engineering.
  • Familiar with SPC tools such as Minitab.
  • Good understanding on inspection methods and procedures. (Test Method validation TMV)
  • Familiar with root cause investigation tools (5-Why, DMAIC, Fault Tree Analysis, etc..) and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to review and update Drawings in addition to knowledge of GD&T.
  • Working knowledge of Agile MAP and SAP.
  • GDP/GMP

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$81,600.00 - $122,400.00 This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others). The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
