Linux Systems Engineer

Linux DevOps Engineer

This role is mostly remote; however, you will need to come to the office in Boxborough, MA, once or twice a month! Research and implement methods to enhance the security of Linux builds within a secure build environment and integrate these improvements with existing automation workflows to ensure seamless and robust deployment processes.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement enhancements to the existing secure build process.
• Integrate the enhancements with current automation tools and pipelines.
• Collaborate with team members to document processes and share findings.

Essential Skills:

• Foundational knowledge of Linux operating systems, including command-line proficiency, file systems, and basic administration tasks.
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or similar.
• Basic knowledge of security principles, including secure coding practices, authentication, and access controls.
• Exposure to automation and CI/CD pipelines, with experience in tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or GitHub Actions.
• Experience with Docker or container technologies.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Previous coursework or project experience related to cybersecurity or DevOps.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract position based out of Boxborough, MA.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $46.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
