Field Service Representative Ii

The Field Service Representative II (FSR II) reports directly to the Field Services Manager and is tasked with supporting flight demonstrations, customer service visits, business development activities, training events, and monitoring the internal team calendar. This role primarily involves planning and executing flight demonstrations and training events, independently if necessary. The position requires frequent travel within the continental US and internationally and involves working closely with engineering, technical support, Business Development, and Program Managers to ensure course materials and instruction reflect current AV products.

The duties include:

  • Perform demonstrations and training in support of AV's product lines
  • Coordinate directly with all agencies and customers, internal & external, to plan and coordinate support for flight training and demonstration events
  • Assist in leading team to accomplish mission by providing goals to team members
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of AV's products/services and current operational procedures
  • Work closely with Export/Trade Compliance
  • Represent AV's products and services as a subject matter expert
  • Work with customers to understand CONOPS and shape how AV's products provide solutions
  • Perform CONUS/OCONUS flight and ground demonstrations
  • Perform CONUS/OCONUS customer service visits
  • Perform Field Operations training events
  • Perform FSR deployments CONUS/OCONUS
  • Capture critical information for input into after-action reports and lessons learned databases
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Work on problems of limited scope; follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations

The basic qualifications (required skills & experience) include:

  • U.S. Citizenship required with the ability to obtain US government security clearance
  • 2 to 5 years relevant experience
  • 3+ years of Field Operations Instructor experience
  • Knowledgeable in military tactics, operations, GPS and Navigation utilizing map and compass
  • Demonstrate above average computer skills and proficiency with office software, productivity tools, and relevant flight software
  • Clean driving record required
  • Available to travel up to 75% CONUS and/or OCONUS
  • High school diploma (Relevant Bachelor's degree preferred)
  • Current FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate

Other qualifications & desired competencies include:

  • Strong communication, active listening, judgement, decision-making, critical thinking, complex problem-solving, and presentation skills
  • Military experience preferred: Special Operations Forces, Infantry, Unmanned Aircraft Operations or maintenance background highly preferred
  • Use critical thinking to look beyond the immediate situation, explore multiple potential paths and adapt decision-making style based on the situational circumstances
  • Assess the degree of risk and opportunity in plans or actions and take appropriate action to mitigate them or make plans to build on the opportunity
  • Able to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties, and at times be able to work autonomously
  • Display strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectives
  • Focus on teamwork and puts the success of the team above one's own interests
  • When available, assist AV main office locations with logistics, equipment preparation, and other duties necessary to accomplish AV's mission objectives
  • Must have the ability to work with little or no supervision and exercise independent judgment on a regular basis
  • Effectively lead, train and mentor small groups of students in meeting course objectives
  • Has strong communication skills as well as interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with others across disciplines

The physical demands include:

  • Lift and/or move between 70-100 lbs. of cases of varying size (Frequent)
  • Lift up to 100 pounds as well as objects of varying sizes for shipment to & set up at various customer training sites (Occasional)
  • Able to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions and traverse across uneven ground and varying terrain (Constant)
  • Stand and/or sit for long periods of time (Frequent)
  • Balancing, handling, fine manipulation and grasping (Frequent)
  • Repeatedly throw objects up to 16lbs over shoulder (Frequent)
  • Good manual dexterity to assemble and disassemble product (Frequent)
  • Crouching, reaching and keying (Frequent)
  • Climbing, stooping, kneeling, feeling, overhead lifting (Occasional)

The salary range for this role is: $30 - $43 AeroVironment considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the location, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
