Boston-based worker-owned cooperative seeks a motivated and relationship-driven Account Manager for its growing commercial composting business. The ideal candidate has experience in customer service, account management, or sales and is passionate about sustainability and cooperative business values. A typical schedule for this position is 20 hours per week, with the potential to transition to full-time employment within 3 to 6 months. Compensation: $21.00 per hour to start, increasing to $22.00 per hour upon transition to full-time.
Serve as the lead point of contact for all customer account management matters. Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients. Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profitability. Develop trusted relationships with key accounts, stakeholders, and executive sponsors. Ensure the timely and successful delivery of services that meet customer needs and goals. Communicate progress of monthly and quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders. Identify opportunities for growth and improvement with existing clients. Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g., quarterly sales results, annual forecasts). Prepare and maintain reports on account status and performance. Collaborate with the operations and sales teams to identify new opportunities. Assist with escalated customer issues and work toward effective resolutions.
Minimum 2 years of experience in account management and/or customer service. Strong communication skills (verbal and written). Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently. Exceptional teamwork and interpersonal skills. Ability to anticipate and solve problems before they arise. Strong computer proficiency and ability to learn digital systems quickly.
