Embark on a journey of change with MAS, by joining the Active – team as an Executive - Industrial Engineering! This role would enable you to review garment sketches, identify suitable construction methods, assess accurate consumptions, whilst providing SMV details of garments in order to facilitate the production process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct development meetings in order to discuss critical operations in order to identify most suitable construction method for samples, upon receiving sketches from the relevant merchandisers.
- Calculate and advice Standard Minute Value (SMV) to merchandisers based on the sketch received, whilst incorporating revisions from relevant persons in order to ensure accuracy in calculation.
- Coordinate with the factory to provide operations breakdown in order to ensure factory is aware of production requirement and is able to adhere to details, after SMV is dispatched to Merchandiser.
- Obtain video clips related to the sewing process from factories, uploading relevant data onto the General Sewing Data (GSD) system and analyse sewing methods in order to initiate system improvements where possible.
- Work alongside Method Study and arrive at solutions for difficult product constructions in order to ensure samples are constructed and sewn to required specifications in a timely and accurate manner.
- Liaise with the Central Mechanical team and agree on/discuss the machine details relevant to new constructions and ensure the cost effectiveness of same whilst providing alternative options if required.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Degree in Textile Engineering or NDT from a relevant institute.
- 2 -3 Year Experience in manufacturing in apparel sector.
- Knowledge of Industrial Engineering and tool of costing: General Sewing Data (GSD).
- GSD License is added advantage.
- Lean Knowledge and people management skills.
- Good decision making & problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
