Key Responsibilities:
- Perform structural design and analysis of water storage tanks (elevated, ground, and standpipe types)
- Conduct site inspections, condition assessments, and prepare technical reports
- Prepare design documents, specifications, cost estimates, and engineering calculations
- Develop rehabilitation strategies for existing tank infrastructure, including coatings, structural repairs, and upgrades
- Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal project teams
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards (AWWA, OSHA, local/state building codes)
- Assist with permitting processes and construction administration
- Support business development efforts, including proposals and presentations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Virginia or ability to obtain within 6 months
- 5-10 years of experience in water tank (or similar industrial structure) design, inspection, or rehabilitation
- Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., RISA, AutoCAD, Civil 3D)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects independently
- Willingness to travel for field work and site inspections
Preferred Qualifications:
- NACE or SSPC coatings certification (or ability to obtain)
- Confined space and fall protection training
- Experience with drone or robotic inspection technologies

The expected annual compensation range for this position is $100,000.00 - $160,000.00. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
