Water Resources Engineer

Responsibilities: Lead and support the planning, analysis, design, and permitting of water resources projects, including:

  • Stormwater management
  • Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
  • Stream restoration
  • Floodplain studies
  • Erosion and sediment control

Prepare engineering plans, reports, specifications, and cost estimates. Manage and mentor junior engineering staff and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Conduct field investigations and site assessments. Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and other project stakeholders. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Assist with proposal development and business development initiatives.

Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited program; Masters degree preferred. 5-10 years of progressive experience in water resources engineering. Active Maryland Professional Engineer (PE) license (or ability to obtain within 6 months, if registered elsewhere). Proficiency in water resources modeling software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, TR-55, and similar. Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation preferred. Strong understanding of Maryland environmental regulations and permitting processes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
