Structural Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated Structural Engineer with a degree in engineering and an EIT, possessing 3-10 years of experience in vertical building design and construction. The ideal candidate will be proficient in preparing drawings, performing calculations, and estimating construction costs. This role involves designing buildings using a variety of materials including steel, concrete, masonry, and wood. You will collaborate closely with architects, clients, and other professionals, managing projects from proposal through to construction administration phase. Occasional site visits will be required. The role encompasses a diverse range of projects such as commercial, educational, healthcare, office, retail, and parking facilities.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, design analysis, and construction cost estimates.
• Perform construction-related services including shop drawing reviews, responding to requests for information, periodic construction site observation, and occasional specialized structural inspections.
• Collaborate with architects, designers, and building contractors on design and construction projects.
• Work independently to manage projects from proposal to construction administration phase.

Essential Skills:

• 3-10 years of experience in structural engineering.
• Degree in engineering with an EIT strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in using AutoCAD.
• Experience with structural design, particularly in concrete, steel, and masonry; experience with wood is a plus.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with virtual structural projects.
• PE certification will be rewarded with a salary increase.
• Open to candidates with vertical structural background.

Work Environment:

This role requires in-office attendance five days a week, with flexible start or end times available to accommodate family schedules. Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $120000.00/yr. MCE HOLIDAYS New Year's Day Memorial Day 4th of July Labor Day Thanksgiving Day Day after Thanksgiving Christmas ESOP This is currently the firm's primary retirement plan. Individual contributions are not allowed. The contribution varies from year to year based on economic conditions. Employees who serve 1001 hours in a given calendar year are generally eligible to participate. Vesting is over a six-year period being 0%, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, 100%. AFLAC Voluntary health insurance plan sponsored by MCE and paid for by the employee. PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS With the approval of the supervisor, the firm will pay for annual membership in professional organizations and also seminars. PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATION MCE will pay for one (1) state per year.
