Senior Systems Engineer

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is currently looking for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join the Precision Navigation (PNav) Systems and Software for Identify Friend or Foe (IFF) solutions for air defense, air control, and self-protection missions in airborne and ground applications.

The Systems Engineering Test team is involved in all aspects of Systems Design and Integration, Verification, and Validation (IV&V). This team, based at Aberdeen Proving Ground, is responsible for supporting backend system engineering on multiple IFF product lines. The ideal candidate for this position should be familiar with both frontend and backend systems engineering activities.

What You Will Do

  • Integrate hardware and software into IFF systems, evaluating their functionality and impact
  • Develop and implement test plans, procedures, integration, and verification documentation and perform/execute the testing
  • Identify and resolve hardware, software, and system issues through detailed data analysis and debugging
  • Develop test documentation, execute plans, analyze data, verify requirements and effectively communicate results to leadership and stakeholders
  • Work with a multi-disciplinary team to achieve seamless integration and system functionality
  • Develop leadership skills leading small test efforts
  • Travel less than 20% to support mission execution at various locations including local RTX facilities, test sites, vendor facilities, and customer locations

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Experience with Digital Engineering Tools (DOORS, Cameo, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.)
  • Experience with Systems Integration & Qualification Activities: systems integration, requirements analysis, procedure development, test development, test execution and evaluation of results
  • Prior experience with both Waterfall and Agile Development Processes
  • Experience generating and delivering technical documentation to stakeholders, including creating, reviewing, and updating test artifacts
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with radio, radar or secondary radar systems
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) government contracts
  • Experience leading small teams to achieve program cost and schedule objectives
  • Experience with System Engineering Product Cycle
  • Experience with National Instruments LabVIEW, LabWindows CVI or TestStand suite of tools
  • Knowledge of DoD AIMs/TSO Certifications
  • Active Secret Security Clearance

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
