Patient Service Coordinator

TEKsystems, in partnership with a leading healthcare client, is seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Patient Service Coordinator to support a busy medical practice in Columbia, MD. This role is ideal for someone with strong front desk experience and a passion for patient care.

Employment Type

4-Month Contract-to-Hire

Schedule

Monday–Friday + Shift Options: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient registration and appointment scheduling
  • Insurance verification and coordination of services
  • Charge entry and reconciliation
  • Collecting co-payments and managing daily cash receipts
  • Handling referrals and authorizations
  • Providing front office coverage and administrative support

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a healthcare front office or patient services role
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Familiarity with insurance processes and patient registration systems
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent customer service skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Candidates must possess:

  • High school Diploma or State Qualified GED
  • MUST HAVE 1-2 years of medical experience (preferably in a front desk setting)
  • Previous EMR experience (EPIC preferred)
  • One to two years Customer Service Experience (receptionist experience a Plus)

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
