POSITION SUMMARY

CBMM’s Human Resources Generalist will provide hands-on support to the HR Manager by coordinating day-to-day HR functions across recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and performance management. This role ensures that HR operations run smoothly and efficiently, contributing to a positive, inclusive work environment that supports CBMM’s commitment to its mission and values. The HR Generalist will collaborate with leadership and staff to implement HR policies and programs that support the organization’s strategic goals. The HR department’s duties extend across CBMM’s paid and volunteer labor programs.

HR Reporting and Metrics

Generate HR reports as requested by the HR Manager and CFO. Track HR metrics such as turnover, recruitment activity, and employee engagement, as requested by the HR Manager.

This job description is intended to provide an overview of the responsibilities and qualifications for the HR Generalist role. Other duties may be assigned by the CFO / HR Manager as necessary to meet the needs of the organization. The HR Generalist role is a full-time, salaried-exempt position of CBMM with an expected minimum work schedule of 40 hours per week. This position is eligible for a hybrid work environment but must be able to provide on-campus support for all human capital needs. The HR Generalist is expected to be present for all special events unless otherwise arranged with the CFO and may be assigned to work in a capacity alternate to that defined.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of three years of experience in human resources, preferably with a nonprofit organization. Knowledge: Solid understanding of HR practices, employment laws, employee relations, and compliance. Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Flexibility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
