The Field Service Technician reads, installs, and replaces small residential and commercial water meters and their reading devices. They respond to billing questions, disconnect and reconnect water/sewer services of delinquent customers, and troubleshoot electronic metering systems. They inspect customer property, ensure compliance with standards, maintain accurate records, and perform emergency meter repairs. They also install wiring for meter reading systems, take measurements, and use a variety of hand tools in adverse conditions. They drive a vehicle to conduct business and must report to work as scheduled or as directed during emergencies.
