Service Writer Position

Transdev in Capitol Heights, MD is hiring a Service Writer. The Service writer ensures efficient vehicle maintenance scheduling and manages orders. We are looking for customer service-oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety. Transdev is proud to offer:

Competitive compensation package of minimum $22.00-$30.00. Maximum benefits include:

• Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks
• Sick days: 5 days

Responsibilities:

• Open work request immediately upon receipt.
• Close work request immediately upon completion of quality inspection.
• Run and review reports as needed.
• Answer shop telephones and schedule repair appointments.
• Maintain vehicle information files.
• Take road call information and dispatch mechanics or outside service.
• Arrange pick-up of outside repairs.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous vehicle maintenance administrative experience preferred.
• Strong data entry skills.
• Computer literate with an advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable.

Physical Requirements:

• Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
• Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces.
• Push and pull objects, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.
• Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
