Building Engineer

As a Building Engineer, you will take on a leadership role in managing day-to-day operations involving building system troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance inspections. Your expertise in areas such as electrical systems, HVAC, boilers, chillers, and plumbing will support the Chief Building Technician. You will also guide and mentor a team of technicians to ensure the seamless operation of building systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and execute service requests and the preventative maintenance program following standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure all work complies with required safety codes and troubleshoot major building system repairs.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and support to Building Technician I, II, and III in maintenance, service, installation, and controls of commercial building systems.
  • Inspect, calibrate, test, and evaluate all building systems routinely.
  • Assist the Chief Building Technician in training lower-level technicians on building systems.
  • Review work orders and control expenditures for services and supplies within budget guidelines.
  • Purchase equipment and supplies as necessary and support obtaining and monitoring subcontracts.
  • Provide operating and capital expenditure recommendations to the Chief Building Technician and management team.
  • Supervise subcontractors providing maintenance or repair services and obtain monthly preventative maintenance reports from contractors.
  • Facilitate the procurement of supplies and maintain inventory in an organized manner.

Essential Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years of commercial building experience.
  • Proficiency in HVAC, building maintenance, plumbing, electrical, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
  • Experience in high-rise maintenance.
  • Possess a High School Diploma.
  • Universal CFC certification.
  • State Certified Journeyman's license or equivalent.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • State Certified Master's license or equivalent is preferred.
  • MD 1st grade stationary license or equivalent if required in another state is preferred.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $53,000.00 - $80,000.00/yr. 8% bonus yearly stock in the company with dividends that get paid yearly OT opportunities.

This is a fully onsite position in Baltimore, MD.
