Primary Purpose Of Position

The primary purpose of a plumbing apprentice is to learn the trade through hands-on experience. Under the supervision of a licensed plumber, apprentices assist with installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems while gaining familiarity with tools, materials, and job site procedures. They also study plumbing codes, safety standards, and technical concepts such as understanding water and gas systems. Through on-the-job training, apprentices accumulate the required hours and knowledge to eventually qualify for the journeyman plumber exam, with the ultimate goal of becoming a licensed professional capable of working independently.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

Perform independently entry level work skills in boiler replacement applications. Perform independently entry level work skills in plumbing applications. Perform independently entry level work skills in flue venting applications. Assists in advanced applications of home comfort products. Performs clerical duties necessary to complete job work orders. Performs assigned job duties, including clerical tasks, as directed by lead technicians. Assist experienced plumbing technicians with daily work-related skills in plumbing applications. Ability to learn the installation applications of plumbing systems, equipment, and products.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED Eligibility to meet company driving standards, including possession of a valid driver's license Working knowledge of basic hand tools

Preferred Qualifications

Plumbing apprentice license with 1 or more years of field experience
