Job Developer For Adult Services

The Job Developer plays a key role in Benedictine's mission to help adults with developmental disabilities achieve their greatest potential. This position focuses on building and maintaining relationships with employers, developing meaningful job opportunities, and supporting individuals in achieving competitive, integrated employment. The Job Developer emphasizes advocacy, person-centered planning, and long-term job success by fostering natural workplace supports and providing training to both employers and individuals served.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Pay: $18.94/hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, promote, and develop competitive, integrated employment and training opportunities for individuals served
  • Establish and maintain employer relationships through regular contacts and database documentation
  • Demonstrate the value and benefits of employing individuals with disabilities to employers
  • Develop and implement workplace support plans, including natural supports within the workplace
  • Address workplace challenges to maintain job placement and support individual success
  • Provide mentoring, training, and support to both individuals and employers during new placements
  • Conduct follow-up with employers and individuals to monitor success and resolve issues
  • Initiate and complete informational interviews at local businesses to identify workforce needs and expand opportunities

Additional Duties:

  • Attend required trainings, meetings, and professional development opportunities
  • Obtain and maintain ACRE certification and CESP certification (within one year of employment)
  • Cooperate with inspections, licensing, and agency investigations
  • Support program coverage needs as required

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED required; Associates degree in a related field preferred
  • At least two (2) years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Eligible to obtain ACRE certification and CESP certification within one year (costs and coordination covered by Benedictine)
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Professional, reliable, and team-oriented
  • Valid drivers license and insurability under Benedictine policy required

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift/push up to 50 lbs.
  • Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed
  • Full range of motion in arms, legs, hands, and fingers
  • Clear vision, hearing, and speech required
