Marvell Data Center Group Engineer

Marvell's semiconductor solutions are the essential building blocks of the data infrastructure that connects our world. Across enterprise, cloud and AI, automotive, and carrier architectures, our innovative technology is enabling new possibilities.

At Marvell, you can affect the arc of individual lives, lift the trajectory of entire industries, and fuel the transformative potential of tomorrow. For those looking to make a mark on purposeful and enduring innovation, above and beyond fleeting trends, Marvell is a place to thrive, learn, and lead.

The data center group builds highly integrated component platforms with high speed silicon photonics, transmit and receive amplifiers, controller ASIC's with Marvell DSP's in the form of pluggable modules. These components are made operational with a highly functional embedded firmware. The team is responsible for design, verification, and validation of these integrated high-speed optical components. The team performs system level testing under various operating conditions, and validates the performance of the hardware, firmware, and control loops. An engineer in this team will be involved in a full product lifecycle and will carry new products from inception all the way to NPI.

Define the architecture for next generation optical coherent pluggables.

Define specs required for individual optical blocks to enable successful deployment of pluggable modules.

Participate in design reviews with multidisciplinary teams.

Master's degree with 10 years of industrial experience OR a PhD in electrical engineering with 8 years of industrial experience.

Proven track record in foreseeing the pluggable architecture life cycle from conception to deployment.

Strong foundation in coherent optical communication systems including fiber transmission penalties such as Chromatic dispersion, PMD, SPM, and XPM.

Strong knowledge of DSP compensation algorithms.

Ability to carry out system level simulations and setup complex optical experiments.

Strong knowledge of MATLAB and Python, other coding languages are an asset.

With competitive compensation and great benefits, you will enjoy our workstyle within an environment of shared collaboration, transparency, and inclusivity.
