Director, Rehabilitation Services

Position Summary

The Director, Rehabilitation Services is a Licensed (Physical or Occupational Therapist) who is responsible for leading and managing the Inpatient and Outpatient Rehabilitation Service Line. Success in this role involves ensuring high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, and compliance with regulatory standards, while driving continuous improvement and patient safety. The Director will collaborate with physicians, staff, and other healthcare professionals to implement best practices and align the Rehab Service Line with the organization's strategic goals. By fostering a supportive, growth-oriented work environment, this position contributes to the organization's overall mission of delivering exceptional, compassionate care to patients.

Position Qualifications

Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • Current California Physical Therapist (PT) License or Occupational Therapist (OT) License required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred.
  • *Must meet all DMV requirements listed below.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of Rehabilitation Therapy experience required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of previous Rehabilitation Services leadership/supervisory experience required.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission Accreditation standards is required.

Skills:

  • Strong ability to think strategically, establish clear goals, and translate vision into actionable plans.
  • Leadership and Team Management- The ability to lead, motivate, and inspire Rehab staff while fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Clinical Expertise- Strong clinical knowledge and experience in Rehab practice to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Communication Skills- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with staff, patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Budget and Resource Management- Proficiency in managing departmental budgets, staffing levels, and resources to optimize operations while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
  • Quality Improvement and Patient Safety- A strong commitment to driving quality initiatives, ensuring patient safety, and promoting continuous improvement in care delivery.

*Note: Requires employees to drive at least once per pay period. These positions require driving as an Essential Job Function, where an alternative means of transportation, such as ride-share or public transportation is not feasible to complete these duties. This may be averaged over the calendar year. Candidates must possess and supply proof of: a current CA Driver's License, a clean DMV printout and Auto Insurance coverage with a minimum of $50,000 per person/$100,000 per occurrence (or a combined single limit of $100,000) and property damage coverage in an amount not less than $50,000 per occurrence.
