Job Title

The Network Engineer, functioning as a subject matter expert, oversees multiple property networks with a focus on high availability and continuous service improvement. Responsibilities include solution development, design, engineering, integration, operation, and escalation support for property LAN, WLAN, and WAN services. This role guides workgroups, resolves complex service requests, and manages CAPEX projects within time and budget constraints. Reporting to the Director of Hotel Technology, the position verifies overall requirements are met for continent IT executives, LAN service providers, end-user computing services, hosting services, and enterprise availability. The Network Engineer provides technical engagement throughout the infrastructure lifecycle, executing initiatives to simplify, standardize, optimize, and automate network designs, tooling, and operations to meet security and compliance requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

Required:

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience/certification.

• 3 years' experience in information technology or network infrastructure management.

• 2 years' experience with project management and implementation skills.

Preferred:

• Technical certifications (ITIL, Cisco, MCSE, etc.).

• Experience in researching emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products.

• Experience in developing technology roadmaps and strategies.

• Demonstrate flexibility to work outside standard hours, particularly during change implementations.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for a wide range of audiences including executives, business stakeholders, and IT teams. Added ability to know one's audience and tailoring the language and explanation to the stakeholders involved.

• Strong attention to detail with an ability to manage effectively across multiple priorities and initiatives.

• Influencing skills and an ability to overcome barriers while driving change.

Leadership:

• Trains and/or mentors team members and peers.

• Provides financial input on department and project budgets, capital expenditures and other cost/resource estimates as requested.

• Provides input into lifecycle, improvement, and standardization strategies.

• Oversees lifecycle management of network infrastructure and services, including capacity, health and performance management.

• Guides and performs continuous service improvement initiatives enhancing network availability for properties.

• Develops, maintains and updates operational run books, knowledge base articles, architectural designs and other artifacts associated with network infrastructure and its association with global network.

• Provides technical leadership, oversight, governance and direction for operational services related to property networks.

• Provides technical expertise to project team for successful project and change implementations.

• Guides analysis of current environment for deficiencies and provides solutions.

• Educates internal and external users of the technologies to continually improve the knowledge and skill-base of the organization on how best to operate and support the infrastructure services.

• Develops implementation plans, test plans, and timelines for projects and tasks.

• Participates in the evaluation and selection of infrastructure services products.

• Guides analysis of the current environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.

• Implement and manage robust network security measures, leveraging advanced technologies and protocols, to proactively identify and mitigate vulnerabilities, ensuring the highest level of protection for company assets and data.

Delivering Technology:

• Manages daily infrastructure operations to meet the availability SLA for network services.

• Interfaces with stakeholders to establish requirements

• Guides/assists in configuration management.

• Works with vendors to resolve complex issues.

• Provides oversight, collaboration, provisioning, management and maintenance of technology products and service alternatives that improve the production services environment.

• Establishes and evolves monitoring and alerting for all production environments.

• Develops internal processes and training to provide team members with the needed skills and tools to support the production environments and deliver on project commitments.

• Performs complex quantitative and qualitative analyses for operational availability to promote a zero-defect environment.

• Identifies and understands issues, problems, and opportunities; obtains and compares information from different sources to draw conclusions, develop and evaluate alternatives and solutions, solve problems, and choose a course of action.

• Collaborates across technology disciplines as needed, demonstrating versatility by actively participating in and providing assistance for various technology management duties beyond the network realm to ensure seamless and efficient overall IT operations.

• Engages with internal and external customers to fulfill their network requirements, delivering hospitable and cordial service, ensuring a positive experience throughout the network implementation process.

The hourly pay range for this position is $32.21 to $43.75.
